The good people of CouponChief.com reached out to me to check out their site and it couldn’t have come at a better time. Between getting ready for Summer classes, my new fitness routine and my youngest son having an ear infection; I’m in desperate need of some hardcore retail therapy. But with all of the previously mentioned going on, I don’t have much time to go out and shop. The good news is that I can always shop online. And there are two additional incentives to doing so. The first is that online stores often have the same prices and sales as their brick and mortar counterparts, except they have a wider selection and variety of sizes in stock where their offline locations have often already sold out. Secondly, since shopping online saves the stores money they can pass these savings on to their shoppers, e.g. ME, in the form of digital coupon codes! YAY!
For example, check out this recent coupon from CouponChief.com for $10 Off and purchase of $10 or more at JC Penny online. With this coupon you can get any item costing $10 TOTALLY FREE and only pay for shipping and handling. How is cool is that?
My point is, don’t snooze and think coupon codes are just for things like free shipping. Coupon codes come in the form of %Percent Off, $Money Off, sometimes totally free items and more! Even if you do have time to shop offline, if you love a good deal its worth signing up to get sale and coupon alerts from your favorite online stores. You never know what kind of hot promotion a store will have and many stores do online only, exclusive promotions. Over the course of a year this can save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars.
There are several other reputable websites out there with databases of coupon codes. And to be totally up front, I browse several before I do my online shopping. But I found CouponChief.com had a few really cool additional features making them worthy of my routine retail coupon bookmarks.
Pays-2-Share
Once you’ve registered with CouponChief.com, you can sign up to get incentive credit for submitting coupons to their database. This is awesome because the site not only can save you money, but you can actually MAKE MONEY using it too. Track your progress on your account page and when someone uses a coupon you’ve submitted, CouponChief.com will give you 2% of the sales in the form of a check or Paypal deposit on the first of each month.
Coupons-4-Causes
It looks like CouponChief.com is rolling out a feature where you can support your favorite causes by shopping online using their coupon codes. The program pledges to donate up to 20% of each purchase made though their site using their codes to a charity, school or church of your choice. You can search for a cause by name or location and if your cause is not found… check this out… you can email them and they will add it. Yup!
Something else I found useful was the ability to search or browse for coupon codes by store or by tag. So let’s say I was looking for gaming equipment. I could look up Best Buy Coupons or just look for all XBox Coupons. Notably, since coupons are heavily submitted by members, they even have coupons for things you won’t find on other sites like high end designers and indie/non-corporate shops. And here is one bonus that us diva geeks will love… NO javascript errors <3
So okay, since I genuinely liked this site I figure the best way for you to become as excited as I am is for you to visit yourself. So I’m going to hold a little giveaway. The prize is a Mystery Box that will contain brand new, sealed, beauty item(s) for women. Beauty items may include things like make up, jewelry, hygiene products, hair accessories, etc. The box will start out with 1 item in it. For every 20 entries, another product will be added. The giveaway will end July 3, 2010 at Midnight EST.

Today all I wanted to do was blog. But the morning began with my little son having a stuffy nose. He had a runny nose last night which kept him (and me) up all night. So I am running on fumes, still (it’s past midnight) and I just got him to lay down. A stuffy nose is really hard on him. He is a “Binky Baby” so he is used to having a pacifier and breathing through his nose almost exclusively. I have thought to taking away his pacifier but I’m a softy for him. Ever since he was weened it’s been the only thing that makes him relax. As I type, he is laying in his crib hugging it. Oh how this is a Kodak moment. I thought to let him just give it up on his own. When my older son was a baby, he tossed it away around age 1 1/2 because he didn’t want to be a baby anymore. He would say NOT A BABY! I loved that. But this one, I don’t know. This one seems quite content being a baby. I mean, he IS a baby. But he is also really ahead of his age. He thinks he’s not a baby most of the time; pushing away people who coddle him, trying to do it himself, cruising and taking steps. He puffs up his chest like “yeah! what! I’m the man!” But then sometimes he looks to me and when I pick him up he starts to make cooing noises (this coming from a child who, at 10 months, already has a 10+ word vocabulary). The cooing sound means, “I want to be a baby.” See when he wants a bottle, he usually says “BABA BABA bABA Nowww now NOW! MAMA BABA NOW NOW” (which astonishes me completely). But when he wants to be the baby, he wants eskimo kisses, to lay in a fetal position, coo and…binky. He ACTS like a 3 month old, intentionally. I am so proud of his intelligence. Still, what an actor! My mother says to me, “No Omi, he IS a baby. That’s what baby’s do.” and I want to believe her, until he cracks his eyes at me maliciously and grins, and says “no no no mama, no elmo.” Then I’m like, okay, my kid is a genius (or the Omen) and he is so pulling everyone’s leg! Nonetheless, the Omen is sleeping. My darling boo. What a mess he made on my purse strap by wiping his boogers on me. Tomorrows lesson, how to blow your nose into a tissue; to save your nose, my sleep and my purse.
